Fabrication Design and fabrication of a specialty vehicle with an overall length of 33’-34’ and a 24’ aluminum custom body with one (1) slide-out on a Ford F750 truck chassis (or similar), including a roof top AC unit and bay installed generator. Displays and exhibits should be fabricated to be durable, self-explanatory, and feature interactive components that are not easily damaged or removed. Interactive aspects should be labeled, or direction should be provided as to how one will engage with exhibits. Displays should be places at correct height for small children allowing them to engage and should not have any sharp edges. Interior Exhibit Design Interior creative design should include layout, experiential exhibit design, theming, and visitor experience. The offeror should consider how visitors enter, exit, and utilize the facility when creating the layout and experiential exhibits. The interior should offer engaging, interactive, three-dimensional displays and other creative exhibits in a mobile nature center that can excite and stimulate learning in people of all ages. Offeror should keep accessibility in mind. The mobile nature center may have multiple doors and may only have one staff person at times so exhibits shall feature interactive components that are not easily damaged or removed. Connectivity including wi-fi and cell coverage varies across the state which should be considered in any electronic or digital exhibit design. Renderings of Concept Offeror to provide at least two renderings of exhibit design concepts to be reviewed by ODNR staff before fabrication. Offeror to provide samples of exhibit materials to be used for staff approval prior to fabrication. Graphic Design/Illustration/Photos/Written Content Design and application of an exterior wrap with eye-catching graphics in accordance to ODNR and state of Ohio brand guidelines. The wrap should market ODNR’s work, with children and families in mind as the target audience. ODNR will provide brand guidelines to the successful offeror. All elements of graphic design, illustration, photos, and written content are to be reviewed by ODNR before production of signs, displays, panels, maps, murals, etc. Development or acquisition of all photos and illustrations are the responsibility of the offeror. Photos accompanying displays are the ultimate responsibility of the offeror and should be given consideration when developing a project budget. Offeror is responsible for subject matter research and script/text development, the creation of original graphics/illustrations/diagrams/maps etc., and photography. ODNR staff will work closely to provide subject-matter experts, editing, proofing, etc. Offeror to provide full size prints of the exhibit panels showing text, photos and illustration placement, colors for staff approval prior to fabrication. Offeror will write all content at a third-grade level that is easily digestible, concise, and engaging Text should be written with consideration for those with visual impairments, using large text, distinct color contrast, etc. Signage Offeror to place signage at child-height to view and read Signage content will be age appropriate and accessible for all, particularly for those living with disabilities and signage will be graffiti/scratch proof Preference on brevity with signage and use visuals over text when possible Offeror will provide fill size prints of signs for staff approval prior to fabrication Installation Offeror is responsible for installation of the new displays, signage, illustrations, photos, murals, windows, maps, diagrams, etc. Exhibit Topics & Components: Exhibit topics and components for exploration and consideration into the Mobile Nature Center may include, but are not limited to: Interactive coloring where children’s drawings/coloring are scanned to create an animated image on a TV screen or projector. Interactive projector game. Lab space for water quality testing and technology to record collected data. Custom life-size robotic native wildlife or animatronic native wildlife Historical display about Ohio’s ancient terrestrial environment and connection to today’s Ohio rocks that contain fossils of these once-living organisms, many or which are long extinct, such as the Dimetrodon, Mastodon, or Dunkleosteous. Offeror Expectations: Offeror shall incorporate multiple owner reviews and approval timeframes in its plans to achieve the final timeline. Offeror shall include a minimum of a one-year guarantee on workmanship and a one-year warranty on materials. Extended warranty and technical support will be in place for any technology aspects of the mobile nature center. The first meeting will be held within two weeks of the project award date. Offeror will have weekly meetings with ODNR staff from award of project to completion of the project.
