Specifications include, but are not limited to: Training & Workforce Development: Provide paid training experiences for urban forestry crews to establish and maintain urban forests into the future and support paid youth employment opportunities, including workforce development and training for the creation and maintenance of green jobs and economic opportunities. Administer an on-site 6-week training program for at risk young adults (approximate ages 18-24), and for adults re-entering society post-incarceration in Urban Forestry techniques including nursery skills, tree-specific landscaping skills (selection, planting, mulching, long-term care, pruning, disease and pest identification, etc.) twice annually (April and September). Assist in training towards participant certification in an Ohio Department of Agriculture Pesticides License. Reporting and sharing of progress and close out: Establishing benchmark and progress tracking systems. Providing a final report of learnings and recommendations via our engagement efforts.
