The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) intends to enter into a sole source procurement for annual corporate membership to Healthcare Information and Management System Society (HIMSS), 550 W. Van Buren Street, Suite 1110, Chicago, IL 60607 in accordance with FAR 13.106(b). The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Digital Health (DHO), requires a one (1) year (12-month) corporate membership to HIMSS. HIMSS has a unique role in improving health care in quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, and access through the best use of information technology and management systems. The organization s 100,000 individuals, 480 provider organizations, 470 non-profit partners and 650 health services organizations help to advance the use of health information and communications technology in clinical care and clinical research, personal health management, public health/population, and translational science with the ultimate objective of improving health. HIMSS membership will provide VA personnel with access to curricular content from existing informatics training programs and other HIMSS educational initiatives with a special emphasis toward those programs with a proven track record in distance learning.
