The Unmanned Aereal System requested by the GCRTA Transit Police should be capable of the following: A gimbal-mounted camera with zoom capabilities of no less than 200x in order to view a scene and suspects from a distance while operating the craft over a safe and secure location. A gimbal-mounted camera with thermal/IR capability A first-person camera view capable of 1920x1080 resolution and at least a 150 degree field of view to allow for a pilot’s maximum situational awareness. Live thermal analysis of a scene with a thermal imager accuracy of no less two percent and a range of -4 to 932 degrees Fahrenheit in order to identify heat signatures associated with people, vehicles, and fires. Capability to record high-definition digital video for evidentiary purposes in a resolution of no less than 3840x2160 for zoom camera and 1280x1024 for thermal/infrared camera. A laser rangefinder with a range of at least 3,500 feet for accurate surveying of a scene. Attaching points and the capability to add accessories such as lights and speakers in order to identify and interact with suspects from a distance. A maximum flight time of no less than 40 minutes (under ideal conditions) in order to effectively deploy to a scene and conduct operations. The ability to replace aircraft batteries without having to power down the UAS itself. This will reduce the amount of time needed to redeploy the craft between battery swaps while on-scene. An aircraft battery charger with at least two spare battery sets for sustained operations.
