The City intends to award a contract(s) for the provision and delivery of lime and bulk dense soda ash used for the treatment of raw ground water into finished potable water. Bidders may submit for one or both chemicals. The award of contracts for each chemical will be considered separately. Pebble Lime • Pebble lime must be delivered by the chosen vendor in a dry form with particles no larger than ¾ inch and no smaller than ½ inch in size and shall be free of chips and other foreign material that might cause damage to elevated lime storage bins. • Pebble Lime shall not be less than 90% available CaO. • The Water Treatment Plant uses and estimated 1,600 tons of pebble lime per year. • Bid price for this material shall include delivery F.O.B. at the City of North Canton Drinking Water Plant, 7300 Freedom Ave NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720. Vendor must be able to fulfill (deliver) orders within three days once ordered. The City of North Canton also reserves the right to reject any and all deliveries that do not meet specifications or are otherwise unsatisfactory, with freight costs to be borne by the supplier. Bulk Dense Soda Ash • Soda Ash must be delivered in dry powdered form and shall be free of large lumps, crystals, chips, or other foreign material that might cause damage to elevated storage containers. • The soda ash shall be 58% Dense Soda Ash and shall contain not less than 98% Sodium Carbonate. Typical Chemical Analysis: o NaO minimum 58.00; o NaCO minimum 98.00; o NaCl minimum 0.20; o NaSO minimum 0.01; o Fe minimum 0.0018; o Water Insol. Minimum 0.0035. • The Water Treatment Plant uses an estimated 225 tons of bulk dense soda ash per year. • Bid price for this material shall include delivery F.O.B. at the City of North Canton Drinking Water Plant, 7300 Freedom Ave NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
