The District seeks to engage a contractor to provide surveys to students that identify their academic goals and strengths as well as their interest in IB or AP courses. In addition, the District would want the survey to include who the student(s) feel supported by in the building; a trusted adult. The District is working to solve the discrepancy between White/Asian students and their underrepresented academic peers in advanced courses, AP and IB. The District does not have an internal system to identify, recruit and retain underrepresented students to AP and IB courses. Ideally, the District wants the demographics of the school to match the demographics in AP and IB enrollment. At the conclusion of services, the expectation is that the gap between White/Asian Students enrolled in IB or AP to be proportional to the demographics of the entire student body. The deliverables would be a recruitment list of students for AP and IB and what underrepresented group they belong to, a trusted adult for every student, and an accounting for the gap that exists between student group and the target, White/Asian students. The District would also like information specific to each student on the recruitment list.
