Specifications include, but are not limited to: Projects in this bond include addition of a new 6,800 sf gym facility, addition of a wing with three standard classrooms, one science lab, and one common area for middle school students as well as restrooms (6,825 sf), renovation of Hilda Lahti Elementary common spaces (office, library, counseling offices), safety/security updates including addition of fire sprinklers at Knappa High School and Hilda Lahti Elementary), roofing and building envelope replacement at Hilda Lahti Elementary, addition of space for a Pre-K program, some classroom refresh work, removal of current portable classrooms, and updates to building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing). If the seismic grant is awarded to the District, seismic updates to the Knappa High School gym, cafeteria, and library will be included.; These projects will begin the formal planning and design phases in summer 2022, with completion of all projects scheduled for fall 2024. The District is seeking professional services to assist in the management and oversight of all the capital projects in the bond program.; It is the District's intention to engage one (1) firm to oversee and perform, in conjunction with District leadership and Northwest Regional Educational Service District (who will handle finances), administration of project development and delivery including developing RFQ specifications for Design-Build Firms, permitting,design, construction, commissioning and occupancy, for the projects. The District anticipates contracting with the selected firm on a lump sum fee basis, plus reimbursable expenses incurred in the conduct of these services. The District will retain the option to negotiate extension of project ma nagement services as necessary to ensure the successful completion of projects.
