The School Board of Palm Beach County, Florida invites Certified Roofing Contractors prequalified by the School Board pursuant to SREF Chapter 4.1 prior to the Bid Due Date to submit a Bid. To be eligible, the vendor must be prequalified for bonding capacity in the amount of the advertised Construction Budget or evidence bonding capacity in that amount prior to the Bid due date. The School District of Palm Beach County, Florida, will receive (via BidNet Direct @ www.bidnetdirect.com) sealed Bids for:

BIDS SHOULD BE BASED UPON THE FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

NEW ROOF CONSTRUCTION (BUILDINGS 1 THROUGH 12):

• New Asphalt shingle roof w/peel and stick Over 30# felt Paper underlayment.
• New 5/8" plywood
• New 4 1/2" R-20 min continuous Rigid Insulation
• Existing 3/4" plywood to remain
• Existing 1 1/2" 22 Ga Metal Deck to remain
• Existing Steel Joist Framing to remain

• New Modified Bitumen roof system
• New 1/2" Dens Deck Prime Board at recess area only
• New Tapered Rigid Insulations to infill existing recesses match existing slope
• Existing concrete slab deck to remain

• Mech equipment to get new one piece stainless steel curb 16 ga to match existing mech equipment size. Provide shop drawings for approval. Reconnect electrical and mech unit and duct. See mech unit for more information. See detail 9/a5.1
• New VTR flashing and flashing plys. New flashing. Extend piping to meet the code required height of min 8" from finish roof system if necessary. Re: 4/a5.1.
• New roofing system. Provide new shingles on peel and stick over 30# felt paper attached to 5/8" plywood with 4 1/2" of ridge insulation on existing plywood. Typ. All roofs re: specification
• Existing stucco soffits of fascia’s to remain. If damaged contractor to replace to match existing. Clean all soffits and fascia’s.
• New roof gutter 8"x 8" and new downspouts 5"x 5" to be installed. Provide aluminum downspouts with brackets, hangers, elbows, wall straps, end caps, etc. For a complete system. New .062 x 1" aluminum straps @ 48" O.C. downspouts to wall, with hangers @ third points. Contractor to reconnect downspout to existing storm line. See detail 1/a5.2
• Provide new expansion joint cover and framing. See details 10/a5.1, 4, 6/a5.2
• Contractor to patch roof were existing abandoned old curbs, mech equipment and plumbing vents that were removed. Patch openings in deck to match existing construction. See detail 4/a5.4
• Existing roof structure slopes 3/ 12, to remain. All new crickets shall be 3/ 12 min slope behind mech equipment.
• New roof exhaust vents 10"x 10" to be installed. Contractor to verify size before ordering new vents.
• New mech equipment to get new one piece stainless steel curb 16 GA to match existing mech equipment size. Provide shop drawings for approval. Reconnect electrical and
• mech unit and duct. See mech unit for more information.
• Contractor to patched existing plywood decking as require do to water damaged w/ exterior grade plywood. Thickness to match existing. Provide an allowance for this cost see spec.
• New roof gutter 8"x 8" and new downspouts 5"x 5" to be installed. Provide aluminum downspouts with brackets, hangers, elbows, wall straps, end caps, etc. For a complete system. New .062 x 1" aluminum straps @ 48" O.C. downspouts to wall, with hangers @ third points. Contractor to provide new splash block. See detail 1/a5.2, 3/a5.3 7/a5.4.
• New dryer flues and hot water ventilators piping to be installed. Match existing pipe size. Provide flashing around piping at roof level. See mechanical drawings.
• Provide new two pieces reglet flashing per detail and reseal joint between flashing and stucco wall system per spec and details.
• Contractor to relocate existing elec., pipe to new roof gooseneck curb. Coordinate with owner on location for new gooseneck curb. See mechanical drawings for more information. See details 2,7/a5.3.
• Existing condensation lines to be reinstalled. Provide new pipe supports. New condensate line supports by micro industries. See detail 9/a5.6.
• Existing mechanical equipment to be re-installed on new curb. Contractor to reconnect existing chill water piping as required. See mechanical and electrical drawings for more information. Existing steel supports to remain. Contractor to notify arch. If existing steel supports don't line up with new curb. Contractor to verify all conditions before removing unit from roof.
• Provide new mech. Unit stands by precision aluminum products. Contractor to reconnect existing mechanical units, refrigerant lines to existing mechanical unit. See mechanical and electrical drawings. See detail 2, 5, 6/a5.4see detail 2, 5, 6/a5.4.
• If existing antenna are in use. Contractor to rerun wires in building to new wall mounted bracket for antennas. See electrical dwgs. For more information
• New modified bitumen roof system to slope 1/4" = 1'-0" and provide rigid insulation w/ 5/8" recovery board to infill existing recess. See detail 2,4/a5.5.
• Contractor to reinstalled new flashing at existing canopies locations. New gutters to run over existing canopy system. Contractor to provide flashing from canopy to gutter to stop water from entering between them.
• Provide drip edge flashing on perimeter of building. Drip edge flashing to be .050 aluminum fabricated in 10'-0" sections. Provide a continuous .050 aluminum hold-down cleat. Install joint covers in full bed of sealant.
• New roof gutter 8"x 8" and new downspouts 5"x 5" to be installed. Provide aluminum downspouts with brackets, hangers, elbows, wall straps, end caps, etc. For a complete system. New .062 x 1" aluminum straps @ 48" o.c. downspouts to column, with hangers @ third points. Contractor to reconnect downspout to existing storm line. All abandoned down leaders are to be fill solid with grout. Seal top of existing column for a water tight seal.
• Contractor to reinstalled new down leader around existing aluminum canopy system. Patch hole in canopy system.
• Contractor to provide new pipe support for existing electrical outlets. See electrical and detail 5, 7/a5.6 for pipe support details to existing structure.

• All materials should be based on the School District Specifications which include an approved equal.
• Any existing lightning protection equipment shall be removed and reinstalled
• Security signage is not included in this bid, and shall not be included in the pricing.
• The Contractor shall be responsible for the repair or replacement, including but not limited to: all surfaces, building elements, fencing, utilities, onsite and offsite elements, sidewalks, grasses, plantings, irrigation, and hardscape disturbed by and/or damaged by construction activities.
• If required, the Contractor will remove and/or modify chain link fencing, including adding gate(s), as needed for site access. Openings in the fence shall be secured at the end of each workday. Fencing is to be restored to equal or better condition upon completion of the work.
• All work during the summer can be completed during the day or night per the SPA/ School approval. The schedule will still have to be worked out with the school as summer activities will be happening on-site. During the school year, work can be performed after the school day is completed but the schedule will have to be coordinated with school staff as there are activities at night. Holidays and weekends can be day or night work however, the Contractor will still need to coordinate with school staff & SPA  as activities are sometimes scheduled during these times.
