1. Site Survey and Feasibility Study ● Conduct a detailed geological and environmental site survey to evaluate the feasibility of a closed-loop geothermal system. ● Analyze soil and subsurface conditions to determine suitability for borehole drilling. ● Develop preliminary system layouts and configurations based on site conditions. ● Analyze the existing energy use profile of each building to create an energy baseline. 2. Preliminary Design ● Prepare 30% design drawings, including conceptual layouts for boreholes, interconnecting piping, and heat pump configurations. ● Provide calculations to estimate system performance, energy savings, economic viability, and environmental benefits compared to the current HVAC system. 3. Reporting and Recommendations ● Deliver a feasibility report summarizing findings, including detailed calculations, drawings, and a cost analysis. ● Recommend the best economic and technical option for the proposed geothermal system. ● Indicate whether further evaluation at the secondary site (Lankenau High School) is necessary based on the results from McCloskey and Emanuel Recreation Center networked site. 4. Site Visits ● Perform physical site visits to assess site-specific factors, such as access for equipment, proximity to utilities, and potential locations for boreholes and system components. ● Coordinate with PGW, the School District of Philadelphia and City of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Department, and adhere to school and recreation center schedules to minimize disruption.
