Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.3.1 PDP currently utilizes a system to perform communication activities such as telephones, video calls, tablets, and video scheduling. Since the original procurement with this incumbent Respondent, the system has been enhanced with several new functions, such as the implementation of video calling during 2020. Additionally, there are many new capabilities to consider for a new system, many of which may be addressed through a new IPCS contract. A new IPCS includes core telephone, messaging and video visit capabilities as well as taking the opportunity to expand the scope of services for modern education, entertainment, and integrated services available in the prisons and jail market today. A new IPCS will enable PDP to operate with improved effectiveness that will help modernize current systems within PDP’s purview. This upgraded and new technology will support the mission of PDP through enhanced operational capabilities, improved offender management practices, and a more streamlined user experience. PDP is searching for a highly adaptable and scalable system so that they may eventually move to a 1:1 model of tablet per incarcerated person.
