Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Bureau of Emergency and Special Operations (BESO), Tactical Mounted Section is in need of four (4) horses to replace those scheduled to retire. The requirements of this agency for horses are: a. Breed-Draft Cross breeds are acceptable. b. Age-The horse shall be between the age of four (4) and eight (8) years old c. Height-The horse shall be at least sixteen (16) hands tall and not exceed 17.2 hands tall. d. Gender-The horse shall be a gelding, a castrated male horse. e. Conformation-Horses should possess the ideal conformation characteristics for supporting long term soundness and service, most specifically through the shoulder, hip, back and legs. f. Color-Any color is acceptable.
