The Office of the Chancellor is requesting Sole Source approval to procure Point to Point phone connections through Lumen. Several years ago Lumen built their fiber network throughout Harrisburg, PA to service the Commonwealth. The Chancellor’s Office is located at Vartan Way in Harrisburg, PA and has been using the Point to Point connections for years once Lumen equipment was installed at the Vartan Way location. This existing connection supports voice and data traffic services through the life of the lease. After PASSHE eliminated their Dixon Center and Millersville Data Center location those connections were discontinued. The Vartan Way location is the only remaining Point to Point connection in place. Contracting with another supplier would take months to build a new connection and cause service disruption. It is clearly not feasible to award the contract for supplies or services on a competitive basis. Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification.
