The Contractor must have the necessary equipment to complete the snow plowing and/or surface treatment prior to the opening and closing of County business on the day that it storms. The Contractor shall also be in the position to service all parking lots and driveways in the event of an early closing due to a snow or ice storm as directed by the Wayne County Maintenance Director. Additional plowing and surface treatment may be required for extra functions scheduled after normal business hours. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to be aware of the weather conditions and coordinate with the Wayne County Maintenance Director of the necessity for plowing and/or the application of surface treatment. Surface treatment shall be applied at a rate not to exceed .25 lbs. per square yard. In the event of severe weather whereas heavy snow accumulations or extreme icing conditions exist, additional equipment, such as a front-end loader and dump trucks, may be required to complete the work. This will be arranged by mutual consent of the Contractor and the Maintenance Director of Wayne County.
