In times of heavy rainfall, the intersections of Brunswick Street with Melrose, Fern, and Warsaw Streets on the east side of the roadway flood. Water runs down Brunswick to Oak Street at the southern boundary of the borough and backs up onto Melrose, Fern, and Warsaw Streets as well. In times of heavy rain, as much as 5" of rain accumulates in these roadways. The Borough will use CDBG funding to install a new stormwater drainage system consisting of a new inlet box at the southeast intersection of Brunswick and Melrose and at the southeast corner of Brunswick and Fern. Drainage pipes will be installed connecting the two new inlets with an existing inlet at the southeast corner of Brunswick and Warsaw Streets. In conjunction with the stormwater drainage, the Borough wants to remediate four curb cuts and remove current architectural barriers. The curb cuts will include truncated domes. All work performed will be in accordance with the Department's Guidance for the Removal of Architectural Barriers.
