Specifications include, but are not limited to: Currently, the two (2) separate, elevated platforms at the Beechurst PRT Station are each served by one (1), two-stop, hydraulic elevator. These existing elevators were manufactured by Haughton Elevator Company in 1978 (see attached shop drawings). Passenger travel to the platform level (Level 2) is currently restricted, and access is granted remotely from the PRT central control room by a voltage signal sent to the existing elevator controller. Each car recalls to the platform level when not in use, and the doors remain closed. Passengers are always able to exit the platform level by pressing a normal hall call button. As the passengers exit the car at the concourse level, the doors will close, and the car will automatically recall to the platform level until another passenger wishes to exit, or the car is recalled to the concourse level by Central Control. WVU is seeking qualified Contractor(s) for the purpose to fully modernize two (2) existing elevators at the Beechurst PRT Station on the Downtown Morgantown Campus. This will be a turn-key project to include new controls, hydraulic systems, required electrical connections, finishes, lighting, and all applicable accessories. All work shall be in accordance with the attached specifications and all applicable State and local codes. Existing dimensions and capacities shall be maintained. New hydraulic jacks will be installed and shall be modern double bottom units. Shaft and car structures shall remain, and all other guide, brake, and safety equipment shall be updated.
