Specifications include, but are not limited to: Inspection Services 1.2.3.1 Training Period; Accessibility of City Engineering Staff The City’s Project Manager, City Engineer, and/or other Authorized City Representative (hereafter, the “Field Engineer”) will work directly and daily with the Consultant and its inspectors and testers in both the field and office for an initial period of at least two weeks during regular construction. After this period, the Consultant may assume the duties, responsibilities, and authorities of the “Engineer” and the “Inspector” as defined in the Project Manual. The Field Engineer will remain accessible throughout the duration of the project to assist with decision making and conflict resolution as needed. 1.2.3.2 Primary Inspector The Consultant must assign and coordinate all inspection services through a Primary Inspector for purposes of continuity during the Project. Leave time scheduled for the Primary Inspector must be reviewed and approved in writing by the Field Engineer. All Inspection personnel must be as proposed in the response to the RFP. 1.2.3.3 Sufficient Inspectors The Consultant will provide enough inspectors to properly inspect all work. Should the Contractor work multiple shifts or in multiple locations simultaneously, the Consultant will provide additional inspectors as needed to properly inspect the work.
