The USDA Forest Service is posting a Sources Sought notice in an effort to obtain general business and contact information for additional Type 3 (typically serve up to 400 people) Call When Needed (CWN) mobile food services. Mobile Food Service Units (MFSUs) provide services at various field locations during wildland fire and other types of incidents throughout the contiguous western United States. There is a growing need for additional CWN capability as the 2021 fire situation remains extreme. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary, and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.
MFSUs include all equipment, supervision, labor, materials, and supplies (except for those items listed as Government furnished) to accomplish the full scope of work identified in the attached Specifications / Statement of Work. MFSU equipment must be capable of operating in adversely impacted urban areas to remote primitive locations with very limited access.
CWN MFSUs will be utilized after all 30 National MFSUs on contract have been either utilized, are unavailable or have declined the order. CWN MFSUs may be ordered and placed on an Emergency Equipment Rental Agreement originating from a source list, with priority based on shortest distance to the incident. The source list will be maintained by the USDA Forest Service and does not guarantee a call or guarantee any level of performance.
