Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of California Highway Patrol (CHP) is soliciting bids from firms that are able to provide Scale Maintenance Services. Contractor agrees to provide to the Department of California Highway Patrol’s (CHP), Nimitz Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility (CVEF) and Platform Scales (PS), the services described herein: furnish all supplies, materials, tools, equipment, labor, personnel, and supervision; pay all taxes, insurance, bonds, license and permit fees, and all other direct and indirect costs necessary to provide Scale Maintenance Services; All work shall be performed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, unless other arrangements are approved by the CHP on-site contact. Contractor shall schedule the date and time the service is to be performed with the CHP on-site contact one (1) week prior to service. Contractor shall sign-in and sign-out with the CHP on-site contact on each service call to provide verification the service has been provided ; A. Routine service to be performed semi-annually with the first semi-annual service being performed within thirty (30) days of contract execution and every six (6) months thereafter. B. Contractor shall provide equipment capable of supplying at least 34,000 pounds of known weight. Known weight shall include at least 20,000 pounds of test weight. C. All work shall be unconditionally guaranteed for one (1) year barring any damage that is outside of the Contractor’s control. The warranty shall become effective when the State approves the completed work. D. Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to protect service locations. Any damage caused by Contractor to State equipment, materials, or other property shall be repaired or replaced by Contractor to the satisfaction of the State at no cost to the State. The State may, at its option, repair any damage and deduct from Contractor the cost thereof. E. After every service the scale pit shall be cleaned of all debris and the debris removed from the CHP facility. The Contractor is entitled to reimbursement for the removal/disposal of hazardous waste materials from the CHP facility. The price for removal and disposal of hazardous waste shall be included in the amount of the service charge, the State will only reimburse the actual amount of the disposal of the hazardous waste. Contractor must include the receipt for disposal of the hazardous waste with the invoice.
