Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1) Provide space for training and staff working on this initiative. Centrally located space should include space for trades training, coaching, and information distribution for all ages. Transportation for youth should be considered to ensure entire county access to the space. 2) Collaboration with organizations such as school districts, technical schools, and other community organizations to educate on available career paths in the skilled trades, creating a pathway of learning, beginning in middle school, and extending through college and/or apprenticeships.” 3) The creation of a local program to aid existing skilled trades programs in building their capabilities. This would allow entities to seek funding to offset the cost of equipment, curriculum, or experiences for skilled trades training.
