Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Kenosha Unified School District (the District), is to acquire proposals from qualified Vendors to purchase a standards based comprehensive health curriculum for grades 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10. The topics discussed at each grade level are as follows: 4th Grade Content - Girls When to expect the onset of puberty Physical and emotional changes of puberty Maturation of the female reproductive system Menstruation Hygiene, healthy habits, and sleep Maintaining health through good nutrition and exercise 4th Grade Content – Boys When to expect the onset of puberty Physical and emotional changes of puberty Maturation of the male reproductive system Common experiences of puberty, including voice changes, feelings of physical awkwardness, and nocturnal emissions Hygiene, healthy habits, and sleep Maintaining health through good nutrition and exercise; The parameters for the family life curriculum are: 1. Grade level standards based content, with identified learning outcomes. 2. One lesson per grade level centered on human growth and development for grades 4, 5, 6, and 7. 3. One unit for grade 10 on human growth and development that can be adopted into the semester long high school health course. 4. The curriculum will be utilized at 26 elementary schools for grades 4 and 5, as well as 10 middle schools for grades 6 and 7. The grade 10 curriculum will be utilized at 6 separate high schools.
