Specifications include, but are not limited to: University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is seeking cost-competitive bid for annual lump purchase of renewable energy credits (RECs) to offset Scope 2 Emissions. RECs must be able to offset Scope 2 Emissions for timeframe of 7/1/2021 through 6/30/2022. RECs must be generated from one of these eligible renewable technologies, as defined in ss.196.378(1)(h) and (i) Wis. Stats. A resource that derives electricity from any of the following: A fuel cell that uses, as determined by the commission, a renewable fuel. Tidal or wave action. Solar thermal electric or photovoltaic energy. Wind power. Geothermal technology. Biomass. Synthetic gas created by the plasma gasification of waste. Densified fuel pellets made from waste material that does not include garbage, as defined in s. 289.01 (9), and that contains no more than 30 percent fixed carbon.
