Stucco Preparation: Prior to priming and/or sealing, mastic caulking compound to be applied to any small cracks and openings around wood trim, holes around windows and/or air conditioning equipment, or around any other places where moisture might enter into the building. Remove efflorescence, stains, dirt, soil, and other extraneous matter from masonry surfaces to be waterproofed. Do not use acid solutions, cleaning agents, or other materials which might stain or damage the brick. L. Repair and fill all cracks, broken mortar joints, and holes. Patching materials must match masonry work in color and texture. M. Immediately before waterproofing material is applied, moisture content of masonry shall be in accordance with manufacturer's requirements. N. Waterproof Application 1. Apply materials in accordance with manufacturer's recommended application instructions. 2. Apply undiluted waterproofing material in the number of coats recommended by manufacturer by means of airless spray. Completely coat masonry, including mortar joint surfaces. Areas adjacent to openings, or to other types of wall construction, may be covered by means of brush or roller subject to approval; otherwise, adjacent features such as doors or windows must be masked. 3. Minimum equivalent coating rate shall equal 120 square feet per gallon for solvent-based material and 80 square feet per gallon for water-based materials.
