Specifications include, but are not limited to: The County wishes to lease Ivyside to an entity that will invest in the house and create a community-based recreation center to expand opportunities for cultural enrichment for County residents. The facility’s design should be compatible with its regional park setting, take full advantage of its highly visible location and respect Ivyside’s history. The lessee will need to hire an architect/designer to fit out the interior. The site is not currently structurally sound and New Castle County will be responsible for hiring an architect to design structural stabilization. The site concept should emphasize creativity, originality, and excellence in design. Proposals should also include a description of the programming, community events, public access and other information relevant to its operation once improvements are complete.
