Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Develop a play environment at Watson Park for children ages 5-12. Work will consist of construction of concrete base and drainage system (See Attachment C), installation of play structure(s) and possible independent play events, new concrete border, and connecting to existing concrete pathways. Colors and theming should draw from surrounding context and elements. Poured-in-place (PIP) surfacing to be done by others, see Attachment D for required PIP depth. i. Swings and a composite structure are desired. An overall footprint of around 4,250 SF is also desired. 2. Equipment design must meet or exceed current ADA requirements as they apply to public playground environments. 3. Minimum 4.5” powder coated galvanized steel posts for all play structures and swing support posts with stainless steel hardware for all play structures. Surface mount playground components will be considered. No wood elements, bubble or clear panels, spring riders, or similar equipment will be accepted. No laminate, silk screen, or decal to be allowed, 2-color sandwich High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or better. 4. Provide ISO 14001 certificate or documentation of recycled materials in product, materials, or production. The city encourages the use of recycled materials whenever possible. 5. Minimize use of plastic (LDPE and HDPE) panels due to vandalism and graffiti. Disclose the nominal thickness of all rotomolded plastic components, including slides. Minimize or eliminate all roof or shade structures for maximum investment in play components.
