Specifications include, but are not limited to: Rings and lids must conform to Wichita drawing 02355-01-01310 & 02355-01-01051. There shall be no lettering in the 3” diameter clear area specified in the drawing.; Rings , lids, and risers must be cast with a minimum tensile strength of 35,000 psi, in accordance with ASTM Specification A-48-83, Class 35B for Grey Iron. Published dimensions must not deviate by more than +/ - 1/16” per foot. Published weights must not deviate by more than +/ - 5%. Casting must be free of defects such as porosity, rough surfaces, blowholes, inclusions and shrinkage. All castings must be cleaned by shot blasting. All round castings of heavy-duty design must be furnished with machined horizontal bearing surfaces. The rings, lids, and risers must be painted on all surfaces with an asphaltic base paint or approved equal. All risers must be compatible with current Wichita specification rings.; Rings and lids must be packaged in a manner suitable for easy unloading. Pallets are preferred. If rings and lids are crated, product must be visible for inspection. Quantity of rings and lids inside of the crate must be stated on the outside of each crate. Minimum clearance of 3 inches under each pallet or crate is required.
