Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Performs secondary microscopic examination and analysis of submitted evidence for quality assurance. 2. Performs microscopic examination of fired ammunition components and interprets conclusions using accepted standards within the field of firearms identification. 3. Receives, catalogues and secures evidence. 4. Test fires submitted firearms and secures test specimens. 5. Performs serial number restoration on firearms with obliterated serial numbers. 6. Prepares reports on findings. 7. Testifies as to his/her findings in court proceedings. 8. Assists in training. 9. Performs other duties pertaining to firearms examination, as needed. 10. The total number of hours will be based on the workload present for the calendar month.
