Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to obtain sealed proposals for Athletic Training Services; This contract will be issued to provide Athletic Training Services at Delcastle Technical High School and/or Howard High School of Technology and/or St Georges Technical High School. The contractor, with approval of the District, shall designate an individual to provide the athletic training services such as: • Assistance in the coordination of the sports medicine program at the school. • Advising the school on supplies and training equipment needed for the sports medicine program • Providing conditioning and flexibility training suggestions to the school coaching staff. • Assistance in monitoring athletic injuries and assistance in developing an injury prevention training program under the direction of a licensed physician to be provided through the school. • Coordinating and providing injury follow-up and evaluation to assist the treating physicians of students and communication with the school nurses and staff personnel as necessary. • Assisting coaches and nurses in organizing/collecting/updating physical forms for student athletes. • The athletic trainer is an employee of the contractor, but is immediately responsible to the Athletic Director, in his/her absence, the Assistant Athletic Director or Designee. • Attendance at the School’s practices, games and other function as set forth below: o To provide a NATA certified athletic trainer who is licensed in the State of Delaware for the nine (9) month athletic year. They will be available to provide athletic training services to the schools not to exceed 30 hours/week. o The hours for the athletic trainer shall be determined by the Athletic Director on an as needed basis for game coverage and for injury evaluations. The athletic trainer will be available to coaches and athletes prior to a gam and will remain after game coverage for a reasonable length of time in accordance with the needs of the players and the staff.
