Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Wauwatosa is requesting proposals from qualified and experienced and experienced Contractors to perform grinding and removal of yard waste materials collected each year by the City. The facility is open to the public and processes approximately 7,500 tons of yard waste materials collected each year by the City through curbside yard waste collections, curbside leaf collection, resident drop off, and forestry operations. Over the past five years this has averaged out to approximately 1,700 tons of yard waste, 1600 tons of Forestry pruning and removal debris, and 4,200 tons of leaves. Approximately 80 hours of grinding and screening were completed in 2022. The City will work with the vendor to coordinate these operations to maximize the vendors operations at the City’s facility. The City of Wauwatosa does not accept grass clippings with its yard waste collections. All yard waste, leaves, garden debris, and logs of 10” in diameter or less will be accepted on an “as is” condition for processing although larger logs are occasionally left in the drop-off area.
