Specifications include, but are not limited to: Design and installation of African penguin life support filtration system to replace and upgrade the current system (rapid sand filtration with chlorine and acid feed). We hope to eliminate use of chlorine in the new system. New system should ensure turnover rate of at least 117,000 gal/hr of the 39,000 gallon habitat volume as specified by AZA Spheniscidae Care Manual. Design should incorporate considerations regarding pH, chlorine, ozone, filtration media and other system component impacts upon endangered marine diving birds (nictitating membrane, supraorbital and uropygial glands, juvenile and adult feather condition) and the water quality issues created by high fat fish diet. System must fit 10’ x 14’ life support room and may include media filtration units, pumps, skimmers, O3 generator, concentrator, injection skid, ORP systems, and associated meters, sensors, electronics, valves. Bid should include design, installation, start up, operational testing and staff training
