Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is seeking applications to award approximately 2 contracts to: • Expand the current services of trained peer recovery coaches and certified peer specialists to address the needs in priority populations, and/or to support the development of peer recovery supports in areas where there is an unaddressed need and/or a gap in service provision, • Expand the number of trained and employed peer recovery coaches and certified peer specialists throughout the State of Wisconsin. Peer Recovery Coaches and Certified Peer Specialists partner with people in recovery from substance use disorders to promote individual, program, and system-level approaches that foster health and resilience and reduce barriers to treatment, housing, employment, education, and other life goals. Peer Recovery Coach and Certified Peer Specialist support services are a key element integrated into several DHS initiatives such as Peer Recovery Centers, Peer Run Respites, Peer Run Warmlines, Crisis Services, and one-on-one peer support in existing substance use disorder and mental health programs.
