Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Columbia County Land Information Department requires assistance in its standardization of GIS data to meet those obligations set forth by the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs in its implementation of Next Generation 911. Next Generation 911 is a statewide emergency number system. By law, it is required to provide standardized interfaces from requests for emergency assistance; process all types of requests for emergency assistance; acquire and integrate data useful to the delivery or routing and handling of requests for emergency assistances; deliver requests for emergency assistances and data to the appropriate dispatch centers and emergency responders; support data and communications needs for coordinated incident response and management; and provide a secure environment for emergency communications.
