The 436 Contracting Squadron is conducting this solicitation to identify small business contractors who possess the capability to provide services as specified below:
Description of Service:
The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, specialty equipment, and insurance to professionally evaluate and remove sediment in water reservoirs 718, 946, 1908 T1, 1908 T2, 1215 T1, 1215 T2. This work is in-service, and reservoirs must remain full during all phases of evaluation. The contractor shall conduct sediment removal prior to conducting assessment of each reservoir. The contractor shall inspect the interior and exteriors of tanks and associated devices to include Cathodic Protection (IAW with National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Standards RP0388-2001, RP0196-96 & RP0193-2001).
The tanks to be cleaned and inspected have this service performed every five years and past cleanings have revealed the sediment layer removed is typically no more than three inches. Unlike domestic water storage reservoirs, these fire suppression water storage reservoir tanks see very little replenishment or water turnover which typically is what contributes to the tank sedimentation level. Additionally, two of the tanks are only a few years old and should have very little sedimentation or other notable condition problems.
The Government intends to award one (1) contract for the period of performance 45 days after the award of the contract.
