Q&A
- The SCHEDULE OF SUPPLIES/SERVICES states, “Line Period of Performance: 08/15/2023 - 08/14/2024”.
- What are we committing to for this period? The Period of Performance will be push aprox 2 weeks out ~(9/1/2023 – 8/31/204) due to the extension of time on the procurement. It will begin once this is awarded.
- Can we assume the Statement of Work (SOW) is one project to be done at the same time? YES
- The SOW states, “Fax - 302-573-6218 - rm 104 and, “Fax - 302-573-6559 - 5th Floor - Cabling moved from block”.
- To where are these cables to be moved or are they to be retired? Fax lines are to be moved from the punchdown block(s) to a patch panel.
- The SOW states, “FIT room - rm 121 - Cabling needed”.
- Are we to read this as the “Fit room” being the point of origin and “rm 121” being the point of destination between which we are to install dual, Cat 6 cables? Origination point for all cables on the 1st floor will be the ADP/Server/Cabling/Wiring room in USMS space. Cable from the Fit Room will terminate in the wiring room of the perspective floor (1st and 5th). (The FIT room is also titled rm 121, they are one and the same.)
- The SOW states, “CSO Control Room 2 - rm 118 - Port 9D-10D-5V”.
- Please explain. Is this a requirement to install cables from “CSO Control Room 2” to Room 118? The location is the CSO Control Room 2, rm # 118. The port on the wall is marked as 9D-10D-5V
- What is meant by “Port 9D-10D-5V”. This means it’s Port # 9D-10D-5V
- Where the SOW states that “Conduit” is needed,
- Is this to be metal EMT or is a plastic raceway more suitable? Plastic flextube is acceptable. Conduit is required when cables leave USMS controlled space, per Pub 64.
- Is conduit requirement for the last 7 to 8 feet, from the ceiling, down the wall to the point of termination or for the entire length of the cable run? . Conduit is only required when cables leave USMS controlled space, per Pub 64. If no conduit exists within the walls, standard behind the wall cable run is acceptable. No unsightly raceway will be accepted unless District Management approves.
- Is the conduit to be installed on a block or concrete wall? This will be determined on a case by case basis with District Managements approval.
