The Ross Shaft at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) has undergone a rehabilitation project which has included the complete removal of existing shaft furnishings between set 4 and the shaft bottom at the 5000 Level. In addition to the shaft refurbishment, a new cage and new skips have been installed to meet the personnel, material and waste rock conveyance requirements to operate the shaft for the Long Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF). There is no need for the skips after the excavation is completed and the installation commences. In support of the cryostat and detector installation, the project aims to replace the north skip with a materials transportation conveyance. LBNF is requesting a proposal for design and fabrication of a Ross Ore Hoist Materials Transportation Conveyance with an integrated lifting hoist.
UPDATE: A PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE will be held via Zoom on JANUARY 04, 2024 3:00 PM CST-CHICAGO. SEE AMENDMENT 1 AND RFP SECTION L FOR REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS.
