The Media Affairs Division consists of a team of highly skilled and experienced public affairs officers. The Public affairs officers working out of USCIS headquarters are responsible for handling all media issues of a national nature. Field public affairs officers (PAOs), located in various offices throughout the United States, and are responsible for specific area of USCIS’ operational footprint. To establish, manage and strengthen USCIS’ relationship with journalists and to ensure consistent messaging, PAOs must interact with the media daily. This interaction requires the PAO to have the most current contact information from each outlet. PAOs must also be able to communicate with large groups at a time for important events, messages, and updates.
