Proof of Concept, Development, and Procurement of Hydrogen Motor Coach
Overview
Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC (BEA), the managing and operating contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in Idaho Falls, Idaho, is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from industry stakeholders regarding a potential develop of a proof-of-concept Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) coach that meets requirements similar to diesel-powered motor coaches in the existing INL Fleet.
Potential Scope
- The subcontractor shall develop a design for a new hydrogen FCEV motor coach.
- The Subcontractor shall provide a detailed Specification (SPC) documenting the design and performance of Hydrogen FCEV coach.
- The Subcontractor shall perform feasibility study and proof of concept to develop a Hydrogen FCEV coach.
- Under the potential statement of work, the subcontractor shall develop/design a detailed design suitable for potential building of a prototype in a potential follow-on phase and a cost and schedule that could be provided to funding entities at any level with confidence that it could be accomplished on-time and within budget. This effort is defined as the Front-End Design phase. Ideally, at the end of the Design phase, the subcontractor will be prepared to enter into the prototype, manufacture, and testing phase of its proposed design.
