3510 – Industrial Washer and Dryer Boise VAMC - Department of Veterans Affairs
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20, is conducting market research to identify potential sources which can provide the following services:
- Title: Industrial Washer and Dryer, Boise VAMC
- Supplies: The contractor shall provide all brand name or equal (UniMac) products, product services, delivery services, training and support. This requirement is for new equipment only, not remanufactured or “gray market” items. All items must be covered by manufacturer’s warranty. This consists of the following items and quantities:
- UniMac UCT40, HARDMOUNT WASHER-EXTRACTORS, ELECTRIC NOT GAS (2 each)
- UniMac UT055, TUMBLE DRYERS, ELECTRIC NOT GAS (2 each)
Salient Characteristics:
- Washing machine: Minimum of 40 pound capacity industrial washing machine to increase production for an established on-site laundry facility. Equipment needs to be high efficiency, using less resources such as water for rinsing cycle, energy savings, etc.
- Washing machine dimensions:
- Width – not to exceed 41 inches
- Height – not to exceed 50 Inches
- Depth – not to exceed 43 inches
- Single monitor display for cycle temperature, time remaining, chemical dispensing system.
- Offers a minimum of nine cycle settings that can be modified to meet the laundry’s demands, several water levels and several supply signals for automatic dispensing of laundry chemicals. Should include cycle counter and test cycle self-diagnosis.
- Leak detection alert to identify leaks immediately.
- Can be operated by a single person upon completion of training.
- Dryer: Minimum of 55 pound capacity industrial tumble dryer to match increased production rate for a single cycle of washing.
- Tumble dryer dimensions:
- Width – not to exceed 34.5 inches
- Height – not to exceed 66.7 Inches
- Depth – not to exceed 54 inches
- Tumble dryer must have a display for time starting and time remaining for individual timed drying cycle.
- Can be operated by a single person upon completion of training.

7. Notes: Depending on the results of market research and socioeconomic set-aside decision, the appropriate limitation to subcontracting may be incorporated into resulting solicitation/contract.
