Mammoth Cave National Park Rehab Frozen Niagara Shelter
This project is focused on rehabilitating and enhancing an existing outdoor shelter area. The revitalization plan includes laying a solid foundation for the shelter, reinforced with sturdy columns, and topped with a weather-resistant standing seam metal roof, complete with a comprehensive drainage system. The design integrates natural stone veneer cladding on the columns to harmonize with the surrounding landscape, along with durable composite bench visitor seating. Infrastructure improvements will also be made to accommodate bus traffic and a designated pick-up and drop-off area, improving accessibility and convenience. Environmental considerations are central to the project, including graded swales to manage surface water flow and temporary measures to ensure cave access during construction.
