The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Bacterial Diseases (DBD), Meningitis and Vaccine Preventable Diseases Branch (MVPDB), hereby announces its intent to award and issue a sole source order/contract, firm-fixed price purchase order to Illumina, Inc, 5200 Illumina Way, San Diego, CA 92122-4616.
Illumina, Inc., is the only vendor who can provide the NextSeq 1000 Sequencing System. The NextSeq 1000 Sequencing System is an instrument for use in whole genome sequencing of DNA clonal clusters of Bordetella pertussis. The system is automated for generation of DNA clonal clusters by bridge amplification, sequencing, primary analysis, and secondary analysis. System includes embedded touchscreen monitor and on-instrument computer, control software, hardware accelerated Dragen Bio-IT secondary analysis pipelines, installation and training, and 12 months warranty (including parts and labor). The instrumentation is available from sole manufacturer and will be used in research and surveillance activities.
This contract action is for a service/ supplies which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The NAICS code for this acquisition is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. Interested vendors that believe they can meet these requirements are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notice by providing a capability statement to the Contracting Specialist by July 15th, 2024. The Contracting Specialist will not respond to verbal request. All requests must be in writing.
This is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will review any/all product, capabilities, and pricing information submitted prior to the closure of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
