This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. The agency is seeking any and all interested, eligible, and qualified sources. This announcement seeks information from the industry, which will be used for preliminary planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this posting. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS, AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS POSTING. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this synopsis. Replace Fire Alarm System The vendor will provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision necessary to replace the existing fire alarm system with a new campus-wide fire alarm system in accordance with the plans and specifications provided. The new system must be nonproprietary, meaning the manufacturer allows fair and open competition between vendors selling the fire alarm devices. The manufacturer of the new system must provide certified maintenance and repair training for two of the VA s maintenance personnel to keep most of the system maintenance in-house. Other Required Skills and Expertise: Demolition Firestopping Joint Sealants Painting Low-voltage electrical Power Conductors and Cables Raceway and Boxes for Electrical Systems Fire Detection All work must be completed at the VA- Northern Indiana Health Care (VANIHCS) Fort Wayne Campus, 2121 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Work must be completed within 270 calendar days from the notice to proceed. This project is designed to replace the out-of-date fire alarm system at VA-Fort Wayne, IN, where replacement parts are no longer available. The VA s goal is to obtain fair and reasonable pricing. Therefore, we are soliciting Full and Open with socio-economic groups to determine how to fulfill VANIHCS's needs. We must know your firm's interest in assisting VANIHCS in accurately determining. To be eligible, interested parties must register in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at https://sam.gov. Firms claiming small business classification status must also register and be certified through the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization database, located at https://vetbiz.va.gov. Again, no preference for any socioeconomic group will be given. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this potential acquisition is 238210 - Electrical Vendors and Other Wiring Installation Vendors. The magnitude of this construction project will be between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
