Contract Title. Repair Laundry Monorail & Lift Stations 3. Background. The Madison VA Textile Care Processing Facility (TCPF) launders 3.2 Million pounds of textiles annually for multiple VA Hospitals and VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs): Madison, WI; Iron Mountain, MI; Tomah, WI; Iowa City, IA; Green Bay, WI; and all respective CBOCs for each hospital. As clean and soiled linens move throughout the TCPF, they are contained in bags suspended from the ceiling monorail system. The monorail system is an upside-down pneumatic train track system that allows all 3.2 Million pounds of laundry to move through and around the TCPF from: soiled sort to the washers; washers to dryers. It has been 12 years since the monorail and lift stations were serviced. 4. Scope. The Madison VA TCPF pneumatic monorail system shall be repaired to meet ANSI standards and safety requirements. The intent of this contract is to replace all air lines, air regulators and worn-out components for the six (6) monorail lift stations. Purchase Products: All new air lines All new air regulators All new components for six (6) lift stations All new lift station guards All new monorail connection points to the building All master lift cylinders All new pneumatic components: tubing inclusive bearings hoist chain mechanical parts on lifts switch frames trolley stops grease Paint: Black Paint for all vertical lifts in their entirety prior to re-tubing International Orange Paint for all lift rails Safety Yellow Paint for all lift station guards 5. Specific Tasks. Replace all components of the automated monorail system Replace all air lines Replace all air regulators Replace all monorail connection points to the main building Replace all master lift cylinders Replace all trolley stops Grease all grease points Lubricate entire system Replace all pneumatic components: Replace all tubing inclusive Replace all bearings Replace all components on all six (6) lift stations Install all new components on each lift station Install all new lift station guards on each lift station Replace all hoist chains Replace all mechanical parts on each lift station Replace all switch frames Paint Black Paint for all vertical lifts in their entirety prior to re-tubing International Orange Paint for all lift rails Safety Yellow Paint for all lift station guards Deliverables: Provide updated pneumatic drawings for the monorail system. All work shall be transported automatically without any assistance by employees to the soil storage area, finishing and storage areas from lift stations. Rail selection shall be accomplished automatically from lift stations. Any operator interaction situations shall be ergonomically engineered for best operator hygiene. 6. Risk Control All work shall be coordinated with COR or alternate (Chief of TCPF) to avoid interfering with production work in the TCPF. Work shall be conducted between 8:30PM 4:00AM Monday-Friday or All Day on Saturday-Sunday. 11. Place of Performance. Building 2-Laundry; 2500 Overlook Terrace, Madison WI 53705. 13. Delivery Schedule. Deliver requested products within 60 days of contract award to Building 2-Laundry; 2500 Overlook Terrace, Madison WI 53705. All work shall be completed within 6 months of contract award. Contracted-work shall be conducted between 8:30PM 4:00AM Monday-Friday or All Day on Saturday-Sunday. Normal Business Hours of operation: Monday-Friday 7:30AM 4:00PM.
