The 91st SFS requested weapon covers to provide vital elemental protection against rain, sleet, and snow to ensure
operational capability in support of nuclear operations. The weapon covers will offer a waterproof moisture barrier, high wind
speed protection, and stay securely fixed to weapons to avoid frost buildup while in the elements and during travel. These
covers must be designed for pedestal mounted weapons and form to MK-19s, M-240s, and M-249s interchangeably. At a
minimum. the dimensions must be at least 31” wide, 30” tall, and 47” long. The covers must also fully encase all weapon
components including amo and optics while mounted in a loaded configuration. They must be easily deployable without
needing to dism0ount the weapon or remove any attachments. The cover must have a maintenance free zipper to secure the
cover over the weapon systems. It should be made of a multi-layer fabric system, base layer must be durable fabric to provide
rigidity to negate tearing and outer layer made of waterproof marine fabric.
