Purpose of Statement:
This statement outlines the general scope of the above-named project. The current objective is to secure a contractor who will agree upon the general scope, budget, and schedule prior to commencing any work.
The contractor must ensure all the details contained within this SOW are within their scope of work and can be accomplished within the set budget and maintain the replacement schedule.
Background:
The Phoenix Rearing Facility (PRF) is a 69,000 square foot facility that produces and ships approximately 1.5 million insects per day and has the capability to produce more on a as needed basis. Producing these insects in the required quantities and quality and on schedule, requires that diet be prepared according to PRF protocol in the required quantities.
The twin screw extruder (TSE) is essential to the navel orangeworm diet preparation process. We require a TSE capable of producing up to 450 Kg of finished navel orangeworm diet per hour. Additionally, we require a solid materials feeder capable of processing 200 kilos per hour of flour-like diet ingredients and two feeders capable of adding smaller quantities (0.25 – 10 Kg per hour)of solid materials . Also, we require liquid feeders there should be 3 liquid feeders capable of injecting 10-200 kilos per hour of liquid the consistency of water or corn oil and a smaller injector capable of injecting smaller quantities (up to 10 kilos per hour) of liquid such as corn oil or dilute acetic acid. Metering devices are required for all feeders. Controlling devices are required for all equipment[CR1] .
Scope of Work:
- Contractor will build and deliver new twin screw extruder.
- A site visit is required before submitting a bid.
- Contractor will remove the existing twin screw extruder and replace it with a new updated twin screw extruder.
- Contractor will perform all required testing. Performance will not be considered complete until the twin screw extruder is fully functional and facility staff can operate it.
- Contractor will remove old peripheral equipment and install new peripheral equipment
- Contractor will provide all required tooling for the job.
- Contractor will provide all required equipment to complete contract performance.
- Contractor will provide all required personnel to safely complete the removal and installation.
- Contractor will provide any required safety gear for the removal and installation of the new equipment.
Contractor is responsible for removing all leftover materials and debris from performance of this contract.
