The Savannah District Corps of Engineers is requesting information regarding the market capabilities of potential contractors that can perform Building Renovations at Juliette Gordon Low Federal Bldg., Savannah, GA.
This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only. This is not a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal. This request does not obligate the Government in any contract award. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District is issuing the sources sought as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support the requirement for civil works construction. the result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement.
Applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of 45 million. The potential magnitude for this requirement is between 10 - 25 million. Statement of Work
The work includes the renovation of the interior of Savannah District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters, located in the Juliette Gordon Low (JGL) Federal Building. Renovation will include demolition and new construction on the first (1st), second (2nd) and third (3rd) floors of the building and incidental work. The building will be occupied during performance of work under this Contract. The existing building and the contents must be always kept secure. Temporary closures will be provided, as required, to maintain security of the building. Contractor will be required to provide dust covers or protective enclosures to protect existing work that remains, and Government material located in the building during the construction period.
The renovation work on the 1st and 3rd floors will be awarded first and the 2nd floor renovation work as a follow-on option to be awarded at a later date, during the construction period. The work will be phased with the completion of the 1st and 3rd floor work required prior to the commencement of work on the 2nd floor.
Renovation area square footages by floor are estimated at 6,800 SF on the 1st floor; 39,300 SF on the 2nd floor; and 53,600 SF on the second floor.
The project is a design-bid-build with the design completed by the Corps of Engineers.
Coordination with the City of Savannah is required for any traffic or sidewalk use/impacts during the construction period.
The Juliette Gordon Low Federal Building is located at 100 West Oglethorpe Avenue, Savannah, Georgia. There will be a scheduled pre-bid conference and site visit with the date and time included in the release of the solicitation.
The construction period for the 1st and 3rd floor renovation work (base bid) is estimated at 365 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The work for the 2nd floor renovation (option) is estimated to be an additional 365 calendar days from the date of the option being exercised.
