The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Division (NCIRD), Division of Bacterial Diseases (DBD), hereby announces its intent to award and issue a sole source order/contract, firm-fixed price purchase order to Life Technologies Corporation, 5781 Van Allen Way, Carlsbad, CA, 92008-7321.
Life Technologies is the only vendor who can provide the QS5 real-time PCR instrumentation and meets the needs of the DBD laboratory. The QS5 real-time PCR instrument is compatible with the current workflow requirements, quality metrics and space constraints within the Streptococcus Laboratory. The QS5 has maximum dye versatility, offers built-in software features for electronic record security and prevention of unauthorized instrument access to assist with 21 CFR Part 11 compliance requirements for the laboratory. The OptiFlex technology (featuring six decoupled channels and white LED) and featuring six independent Veriflex temperature zones on the QS5 system enables improved data accuracy and sensitivity for genomic applications.
This contract action is for supplies which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The NAICS code for this acquisition is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. Interested vendors that believe they can meet these requirements are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notice by providing a capability statement to the Contracting Specialist by August 22, 2024. The Contracting Specialist will not respond to verbal request. All requests must be in writing.
This is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will review any/all product, capabilities, and pricing information submitted prior to the closure of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
