STATEMENT OF NEED
Loligo CS50030 Respirometry Aquatic Swim Tunnel Systems (two) or equivalent
PURPOSE: Swim tunnel respirometry systems for aquatic respirometry research to provide real-time monitoring of aquatic organism metabolic processes in response to sea water condition changes.
BACKGROUND: NMFS engages in research projects which are designed to target critical environmental factors which affect marine organism survivability, lifespan, and behaviors. The research will model and test changing ocean conditions including pH and temperature changes as a part of testing ocean acidity and water quality changes. Swim Tunnel respirometry allows researchers to effect water quality changes in a controlled environment and measure changes to an organism’s metabolic processes as a result.
SCOPE: The Contractor shall furnish and deliver the swim tunnels, sensors, probes, and peripherals listed in Statement of Need. Delivery needs to be made no later than 30-Nov-2024 to the NMFS RACE Research Facility in Seattle, Washington and the Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute in Juneau, Alaska.
