Answer: 6° C, with varying flow rate based on desired set temperature ranging from 8-30 L/minute; makeup water (system is partial flow-through) is 24° C. Sideloop for chilling tank in tank.
Question: How many gallons of water / saltwater is the fish tank being chilled?
Answer: 1235 gallons.
Question: Can you confirm this is only the purchase of the chillers or are you looking for them to be installed as well?
Answer: This request is for Two - Water Chillers (with air cooling) with low ambient control units PLUS FREIGHT. No installation is needed.
Question: Also, is there a specific manufacturer/serial number/model number that is preferred for the chillers? Or just meet the specifications in the SOW?
Answer: We currently have Aqualogic HT-4 with Low Ambient Control units in service at our Station, which currently meet all requirements of the SOW. However, other units would be acceptable if they meet all requirements within the SOW.
Question: Heat load to be removed (kW or BTH/hr)?
Answer: 1235 gallon tank volume required to be maintained as low as 6° C, with varying flow rate based on desired set temperature ranging from 8-30 L/minute (lower temp, lower flow rate); makeup water is 24 ° C.
Question: Required Coolant Temp?
Answer: 1235 gallon tanks are chilled from ambient (24C) down to as low as 6C using sideloop chillers (requested item). Flow rate is proportional to tank temperature from 8-30L/minute (lower temp, lower flow rate).
Question: Required Temp Stability?
Answer: +/- 1 ° C.
Question: Entering product/water temp?
Answer: 24 °.
Question: Desired product/water temperature?
Answer: As low as 6° C, with varying flow rate based on desired set temperature ranging from 8-30 L/minute.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products or commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6 and is being conducted in conjunction according to FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures as supplemented with additional information in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
The solicitation number is 12405B24Q0558 and solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document incorporates those provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2024-05.
This RFQ is issued as a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 333415 - Air-Conditioning and Warm Air Heating Equipment and Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturing. The Small Business Size Standards in number of employees is 1,250.
The USDA, ARS, SEA, Harry K. Dupree Stuttgart National Aquaculture Research Center (HKDSNARC), Stuttgart, AR location has a requirement for the following:
- Procurement of Two (2) 36K BTU Water Chillers (with air cooling) with low ambient control in strict accordance as detailed in attached Specifications Sheet. PLEASE READ SPECIFICATIONS SHEET ATTACHMENT.
Contractor must be registered in System for Award Management, (SAM), prior to submitting a quotation. Registration is free and registration can be completed online at www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM.

In order to be considered for award, Offerors shall respond by submitting One (1) electronic copy as follows:
- Fully completed and signed SF18 Offer Form original signature and date; acknowledgment of any Solicitation Amendments (if applicable); SAM UEI Number.
- Price Quotation. Pricing shall be submitted using the Schedule of Supplies/Services within the Offer Form (SF 18); A Firm Fixed-Price quotation (on company letterhead) detailing item description, unit price per item, total price and delivery costs as well as any applicable duties, brokerage, or customs fees.
Quotation must be valid for at least 60 days after receipt of quotation.
Items delivered FOB destination inclusive of all costs.
Rejection of Quotation. Failure to demonstrate compliance will be cause to reject the quotation without further discussion. All responsible sources may submit an offer and will be considered.
52.212-2 Evaluation – Commercial Products and Commercial Services (Nov 2021). This solicitation is being issued pursuant to FAR Part 13.106 procedures.
