U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Bonneville Dam has nine escalators that are over 40 years old. Evaluations are needed to identify any faulty, worn, or defective parts and components along with estimated requirements to reestablish service on one escalator that is currently non-functioning. Contractor will provide assessment report with overall assessment and complete rehabilitation and replacement costs.
Contractor will be required to partially disassemble to inspect internal mechanical and electrical components. The Contractor must furnish suitable equipment, tools, and labor to perform all work required to safely access all escalator components, evaluate, and make recommendations for rehabilitation or replacement at Bonneville Dam Powerhouse 2 and Vistor Orientation Building. The contractor must provide information that shows capability of performing detailed assessment of commercial escalators with at least 2 assessments of similar scope within the last 4 years.
All testing and final assessment report must be completed within 10 weeks from award of contract unless otherwise notified by the government. The contractor must submit a schedule plan for on site evaluation of escalators which must incorporate arrival time, set up, clean up, and closing up of equipment at Bonneville Dam project. The contractor will be allowed to inspect and evaluate escalators at the Bonneville Site during normal working days from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. Extensions to the daily time schedule may be allowable but must be submitted to the Government for approval at least 10 days in advance.
