The Regional Maintenance Center at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS and IMF), Bremerton, Washington intends to award a stand-alone Firm-Fixed-Price contract to accomplish maintenance, repair, and preservation of one (1) Reactor Compartment Disposal Barge 40 (RCD Barge 40). The RCD Barge 40 vessel characteristics are as follows: Length 250 FT; Width 68 FT; Hull Depth 15 FT; Age 40 YRS; Hull Type STEEL; Draft 2.85 FT (FWD) 3.44 FT (AFT); Total Weight Tow Gear 6.9 LT; Light Load 1,120 LT. The Contractors facility must possess the capability of accommodating one (1) Reactor Compartment Disposal Barge 40 (RCD Barge 40) with the dimensions listed. To facilitate proper government oversight, the facility shall be located in the Puget Sound, WA region. For this procurement, the Puget Sound, WA region is defined as the West Coast of the continental US, starting from Olympia, WA and extending northward to Bellingham, WA.
RCD Barge 40 Scope Overview: Coordinate with the Contracting Officer, via the Contracting Officers Representative (COR) to deliver the vessel from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) Bremerton, WA to the Contractors facility. Dock, wash, and clean the exterior surfaces of the vessel upon docking. Blast, inspect and preserve the hull, freeboard, and markings. Blast, inspect and preserve main deck, deck fittings, pad eyes, lifeline sockets. Open, clean, and maintain dry each tank. Perform preliminary air test on tank, install new gaskets, perform final air tests on tanks. Blast, inspect and preserve each tanks to include tank covers. Coordinate USCG and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) 5 Year Docking Survey. Accomplish a final closure inspection of each tank upon completion of all work. Undock the vessel. Arrange and coordinate the delivery of the vessel back to the Government at PSNS Bremerton with the Contracting Officer via the COR.
RCD Barge 40 will be available from 3 March 2025 to 30 July 2025. This is full and open competition. All offerors must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) to receive award of Government contracts.
