The purpose of this post is seeking sources for market research purposes.
Moody AFB is searching for capable vendors able to fulfill the requirement for a singular (1) radio tester capable of performing preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on command, control, and communications radios used by Air Traffic Controllers supporting flying operations.
Requirements for the radio tester are as follows:
- Required to perform signal generation in VHF/UHF frequency bands, operation frequency measurement, signal plus noise ratio measurement, distortion analyzing, output power measurement, spectrum analyzing, modulation measurement, cable and antenna measurements, and receiver audio measurements.
- All cables, adaptors, and connectors for testing, troubleshooting, and alignment.
- Tested with Headquarters Air Force Flight Standards Agency.
Requirements for the tester must meet or exceed the functions of the following testers:
- Oscilloscope - Wayne Kerr AMM 257 Modulation Meter or Equivalent (6600_32, 9.6.6.1) / Tektronix 2246 100Mhz
- Multimeter - Fluke 87V True RMS Multimeter
- Frequency Counter - HP 5385A Frequency Counter or Equivalent (6600_32, 9.6.4.1)
- Wattmeter/Dummy Load - Bird 43 Wattmeter or Equivalent and Wattmeter elements (6600_32, 9.6.5.1)
- Signal Generator - Hewlett-Packard 8648C Signal Generator or Equivalent
- Spectrum Analyzer - Hewlett-Packard 8563A Spectrum Analyzer or Equivalent
- Distortion Analyzer - Agilent 8903 Audio Analyzer or Equivalent (6600_32, 9.6.6.1)
- Peak Power Meter - Gigatronics 8652A Dual Channel RF Power Meter + Peak Power Sensors
- Field Fox - FieldFox N9923A or Anritsu MS2024A Vector/Network Analyzer
